Here’s a pressing that doesn’t surface often in the wild the Canadian ATCO release of Sonny & Cher’s “The Two Of Us” from 1972. This was their final studio album as a duo before their well-documented split, capturing them at a fascinating crossroads both personally and musically. While most collectors focus on their earlier folk-rock material, this record shows the pair moving into a more polished, early 70s pop-rock direction that anticipated Cher’s solo career trajectory. The album features some surprisingly strong material, including their take on “Tennessee Waltz” and the underrated “When You Say Love,” which showcase Cher’s increasingly confident vocals against Sonny’s more restrained production style.
