Lighthouse Live! captures the Toronto-based ensemble at their absolute peak, recorded during their 1972 tour when they were riding high on the success of “One Fine Morning” and had refined their ambitious blend of rock, jazz fusion, and orchestral arrangements into something truly distinctive. This live recording showcases the full thirteen-piece lineup in all their horn-driven glory, with Skip Prokop’s dynamic drumming and Paul Hoffert’s innovative use of early synthesizers creating a sound that was genuinely ahead of its time. The extended jams on tracks like “Hats Off” demonstrate why they were considered one of the most technically proficient live acts of the early 70s progressive scene.
