Here’s a Canadian RCA Camden pressing of “The One And Only Glenn Miller” from 1968, part of Camden’s budget reissue series that brought classic big band recordings to a new generation during the height of the nostalgia boom. This compilation draws from Miller’s legendary RCA Bluebird sessions recorded between 1939-1942, capturing the orchestra at their commercial and artistic peak just before Miller enlisted in the Army Air Forces. The Camden series, while often overlooked by collectors focused on original 78s, actually features some surprisingly well-mastered transfers that showcase Miller’s sophisticated arrangements and the tight ensemble work that made his band the most popular dance orchestra of the swing era.
