ABA is the debut album by Sudanese singer and oud player Sulaf. Its a deeply personal tribute to her grandfather, Aba, a Sufi poet who wrote and sang quietly at home, filling family life with music, reflection, and joy. Drawing on his songs and spirit, Sulaf reimagines this intimate repertoire through a contemporary lens. Produced by Maxime Kosinetz (Imarhan, Gruff Rhys), the songs Sudanese musical textures intertwine with tasteful synths, atmospheric soundscapes, and spoken-word interludes that deepen the albums storytelling.
