Led by Boy George, a renowned figure in Londons vibrant Blitz Club scene of the early 1980s, Culture Club were at the forefront of the New Romantic movement. They helped spearhead the Second British Invasion of the US with the release of their 1982 debut album, Kissing to Be Clever. A No. 5 hit at home and a chart contender around the world, the album included the global smash hit Do You Really Want to Hurt Me and the playful, horns-assisted pop of Ill Tumble 4 Ya, alongside seven other tracks that showcased the groups catchy mix of new wave, pop, reggae, and soul music.
